Set in a tropical rain forest, with exotic palm trees, fresh springs and local fauna and flora. Securely locked in enclosures, crocodiles are grouped according to age and specie from Africa and the neighbouring islands.
The first crocodiles: one male and four females, were imported from Madagascar and their offspring placed in heated indoor nurseries for one year before they were released into ponds.
La Vanille Crocodile Park also showcases a wide variety of lizards, snakes, tortoise, monkey, deer, rabbits, bats and wild pig, with descriptive notes on the fences.
Different insects and colourful butterflies are displayed
in a special room. A guided path in an open enclosure brings
you closer to the giant tortoises in their natural habitat.
Tip: Entrance fees apply. Next to the Crocodile
Park is the Rochester Falls and further down is Gris Gris.
