South of the island, St Aubin and Bois Cheri will bring you back to colonial Mauritius. A trip to the highlands will introduce you to vast expanses of land, under tea cultivation, authurium and cinnamon nurseries. A guide on-site will explain to you how tea leaves are processed in the tea factory and the visit is not complete without a tea tasting session!
Appreciate the locally-produced tea the Mauritian way: sipping quietly by the verandah of the colonial house, built in 1819 and, drinking in the beautiful panaroma of the lush green tea shrubs and nearby forests.
Tip: there is a small entrance fee. The
tea factory runs at specific times. Click here for more
